Sam's Baptism

On the same weekend two years after Bridget's baptism, Sam was baptized at Faith Lutheran. His godparents are our dear friends Ed and Katie Wallen who just moved back to NOVA from Durham, NC. They also adopted a little girl, Sophia, from Russia this Summer and she's sure to make her blog debut very soon.

Overall the baptism went great. Sam was a trooper giving big smiles while he was getting the water poured on his head. His middle name was only mispronounced once. And, he loved the pastor's cross necklace. He held on for dear life and Pastor Bill had to pry it out his little paws.

Thankfully, Miss B had plenty of distractions with her cousins and the grandparents. Although, she did hop on my leg during the children's sermon for which she was upfront with Max and demanded a horsey ride. AND, when Sam was about to be baptized, she was climbing towards me from the pews asking for yogurt pretzels! I guess she didn't realize the importance of what was going on nor the fact we were in the front of the church. All too funny. We had a great brunch afterwards and a nice night with the family.
