Safety Pup

Yesterday on the way to the doctor, Bridget insisted that I buckle Holly, her baby, into the seatbelt with her. Her reasoning "to keep her safe". This went on all day - we ran many errands including a trip where she worked with mommy at the office. Thinking this was adorable and clever on B's part, I sent the picture to Marc.

Here's his reply:

"Funny cute. My mom used to do the same thing with me on the way back from Deshler, except it was in the front seat of a 1978 Chrysler Cordoba and there wasn't a seatbelt involved."

I died laughing. Of course! We weren't raised in a safety pup seatbelt world. And, Betty probably did look pretty cute driving with her blondie boy like that. I was also reminded of the times I would "drive" my grandfather's huge blue Lincoln Continental on his lap after church. Those were glory days for a five year old!
