Twinkle Toes

I think most every mom of a girl dreams of the day she can take her daughter to ballet or gymnastics. It seems to be a preschool rite of passage and whether they stick it out for years or try it for month, it's guaranteed to make for some cute moments and pictures. We decided that Bridget was ready for one of the 2 1/2 ballet programs even though I was very nervous about her following directions and not running wild throughout the studio. And to my amazement, she was the perfect potrait of a little lady. She had her listening ears on and was ready to make happy feet. It was a mommy and me kind of class, but after 15 mins Miss Katherine excused the moms and we all nervously and quietly walked out. And as we chatted away, we could see the ballerinas dancing around and doing something that appeared to be listening and taking instructions. It was priceless.

Pre-Ballet. All big girl in her new leotard.

At the end of class they act out a book that was read to them. Not only did involve dancing with a doll, they got to put on these dresses. And, yes, Bridget asked me if she could "wear this at her home."

Bridget and Sophia, her new friend. Thanks to Sophia's mom, we've got these photos.

Demonstrating some listening skills?!
